ENJOY THE ROMANIAN COUNTRYSIDE THE VILLAGE AS IT ONCE WAS

21st century visitors are welcome in hundreds of archaic villages situated in picturesque landscapes all over Romania. Every place has another story. Every place has its customs, traditional costumes and special gastronomy linked however by one common thread: they all seem to spring from the natural surroundings. Visitors are not only special guests but can also participate to household activities such as cooking, wood carving, weaving, hay making, and agriculture. There are mountain villages at over 1000 m altitude, scattered with houses; other towns are strung along river valleys, on the hills, among orchards and vineyards, in the majestic immensity of the plains, and some are hidden in the youngest land of Europe, the Danube Delta. When you visit Romania, you will delight in discovering a place that is alive with legends, myths and traditions which have been cherished for centuries. Few countries in the world have preserved so many customs or have such love for their folk

music and dancing. Throughout the year, Romanians celebrate their ancient heritage, changing seasons, religious holidays and life-cycle events, such as birth, marriage and death, with festivals that have remained unchanged for centuries.
